Frequently asked questions.
I am nervous to start therapy, can you give me information on how the process works?
First off, it is understandable to be nervous. We are glad you are taking the initial steps to start this process! The first session is considered an “intake” session where the therapist will review the practice policies, obtain history and gather information, and gain an in-depth understanding of your reason for coming to therapy. In subsequent sessions, the therapist will work on building a collaborative relationship with you, and will continue to develop treatment goals unique to you and your reasons for attending therapy.
Are you seeing telehealth clients or in-office clients?
At this time, we are providing telehealth services as well as in-person services in our Northfield office location.
What is the cancellation policy?
There is a $125 fee for appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment. We understand emergencies happen; please discuss specific situations with your therapist.
How often will I have sessions?
Sessions typically occur once a week. However, as treatment progresses, you and your therapist may decide to increase or decrease frequency of treatment based on need.
Do you prescribe medication?
Dr. Jessica Dubnow and Dr. Roshni Shah both hold degrees in Clinical Psychology and do not prescribe medication. We are happy to coordinate care with your psychiatrist or your physician to best address your needs.
Do you do psychological testing/psychological evaluations?
We do not do psychological testing at Crescent Psychology but are happy to provide referrals for assessments.
